I want to express my deepest gratitude for your continued support over the past year. Following Kevin and Lilly’s departure, I had intended to reach out and introduce myself sooner. However, thanks to your unwavering loyalty and continued business (and how busy it has made us), this message comes to you four months later than I planned.
Your dedication to our company during this transition has been truly remarkable. The trust you’ve placed in us has not only kept us exceptionally busy but has also reinforced our commitment to serving you better. In the sections below, I want to introduce you to the dedicated individuals who make up our team and share the numerous exciting developments underway at Deschutes Backflow & Irrigation.
Our Team
Many of you may have already met or interacted with David, our Irrigation and Backflow Specialist, and Rachel, our Business Operations Manager. They are dedicated to providing top notch support, and their work and talents have been pivotal to Deschutes Backlow’s success. In the upcoming months, we will add a “Who We Are” section to the website. This section will include more background on myself, Rachel, and David. Our stories and experiences shape how we serve you, and we can’t wait for you to learn more about us.
In the meantime, a bit about me. As Lilly and Kevin mentioned in their letter, in addition to being certified as a backflow inspector, I also have an engineering degree and a background in growing small companies. I am an Oregon native, I graduated from OSU Cascades here in Bend, and I have spent many years in manufacturing. I am also a US Navy Veteran, and a single father to a wonderful 9-year-old daughter.
I love to solve problems, and I love to build systems. What this means for you is an ever improving customer experience, coupled with an unwavering commitment to quality and service.
New & Improved Customer Service Features
We have been hard at work refining our background processes, and preparing to add new features. Some quick examples you can look forward to in the coming months:
Automated service completion notification – we will notify you as soon as your backflow test/activation/etc. is complete via text or email.
Recurring scheduling – No need to remember to schedule your backflow test, winterization, or sprinkler activation. After you opt-in, we will set you up on a yearly recurring schedule. No more “email blasts,” closed books, or last minute bookings… just the peace of mind that we have you covered.
Improved response times – improved customer communication processing, reducing response times even further, ensuring your questions answered quickly and efficiently.
Future Innovations
Looking to the future, you can expect continued improvements in Deschutes Backflow & Irrigation’s current offerings and the way we deliver those services to you. What really excites me about the irrigation industry is the opportunity to improve irrigation technology, to reduce water use while improving ecosystem health, and to pass a healthier and more sustainable Central Oregon on to future generations.
Our mission is to partner with like-minded Central Oregonians to accomplish these goals through new innovations that we are currently developing. Through our new, separate business division called Deep Green Technology, we will offer system efficiency consultations and retrofits/installations of advanced irrigation technology. We plan to launch many of these services in spring 2025, and there will be much more to come on this as we finalize product technology and offerings. In the meantime, a few of the focus areas will be:
- Integration of advanced sensor technology with your current system, significantly improving overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- State-of-the-art irrigation equipment that significantly reduces water use for turf areas, allowing for a water wise landscape that includes all the benefits of turf grass.
- Smart use monitoring and tracking systems that give you the data you need to make informed and timely irrigation decisions, and to track your water savings and environmental impact.
